Joy, If you can't make it down to northeast Florida (you would love St. Augustine!), then I most highly recommend a stop over in Savannah. That's were we go when we want to get a weekend getaway. Great food, and absolutely fascinating architecture & quirky folks. Remember the Garden of Good and Evil? Great place just to take long walks and enjoy the neighborhoods and squares. Enjoy!
