Hi Craig,

Keep shopping. It doesn't cost anything but time to shop around to find
the product you want.

You are definitely swimming against the current with your personal
demographic and choice of vehicle, but somewhere out there is an
insurance company that is willing to sell you what you want to buy,
regardless of whether you have any history with them or not.

I definitely agree that you should get your van appraised, but I would
be leery of posting my van for sale just to set a value for insurance
purposes... If it's still in your hands some time later and you have an
at-fault claim it's not impossible for an agent to draw the conclusion
that it didn't sell and you're *trying* to write it off. That could get
ugly.
