"Now it seems odd that most of the posts on this thread feel that this van is going for far more than it's worth. Maybe it is, but I would think we should be happy as this helps us prove to insurance companies and such that they need to think again. Again...just playing devil's advocate." My take on that: Envy and jealousy almost always will leak out "sideways", even if doing it cuts one's nose off, to spite the face ... or perceived loss of same. Every time I've done it I end up losing my a--. I'm old so have found out through multiple events of this experience by myself that when I go ahead and lose face, I save my a-- ... rather than the other way 'round. So what if I've invested almost twice as much in my van as I paid for it 8 years ago. I like what I've got now even though I'll likely never get back in $$, what I expended. What I have gotten back is the tremendous enjoyment of using the end product. No way to measure that in $$$. What a great link Ken. Thanks. I loved my '70 914-6 ... wish I still had it. bob '87 Syncro Westy http://www.flickr.com/photos/syncronaut/sets/72157615490910502/ |
