oh hi Neil, didn't realize it was you. Silly me.

I'd go with the later waterboxer type trans myself, if I had two equal but different version transmissions and linkages to chose from., but ...........

The DK is a little higher in top gear though, pretty sure, which you might find more to your liking. And it's a real easy swap, so might as well try it.

to put in the other type trans you need to swap over the linkage and you might get into dropping the gas tank, and that gets into a pretty big project. I installed a 5 speed and linkage into an 83 Adventurewagon - I think to get that linkage in I had to lower the gas tank some, but not remove it entirely. The DK is a one step 'just install it' .
