I think we're all just looking at the face value of the auction. Yes there are a myriad of scenarios that might play out, but what's being looked at is simply the funds being committed to the purchase of a vehicle that some may find over priced, or priced right. I can just imagine how that thing drives. I have a 2wd gl automatic and it is a joy to drive. The automatic is superb and the box steers just right. It's short coming is that it's not looking so hot anymore, especially after it wiped out Bambi. Still does most things very well. I picked it up looking very good, for 350.00, asking price 5500.00, by a dealer that must have taken it as a trade in. I put around 500.00 the first week I owned it. Since then, P/maintenance and fluids, new brakes, master and flush, tires, all you would expect to have to do to keep a vehicle, reliably on the road. Now for my point.....damned thing was worth so much more than the 350.00 selling price, right? So I have a pretty good idea, that after 4 years, it was certainly worth a lot more. How much more? Well it never looked as good as the Ebay Carat. It's always been a GL, orly blue, which is beautiful, but for me, it's not tornado red........This Carat is worth 10K to some. It certainly is to me if it has no rust and the paint is good. As far as the engine, all it really has to do is get me home, 1500 miles, maybe. Of course I would prefer that it was good for a good long haul, but what the hell. Just look at the possibilities. A Zetec, GW 2.3 (all it really needs, ask me how I know,) SVX, STI? In short, beautiful van, endless possibilities.......oh and, have you seen me? I would look really good driving it! Miguel
