Why not move the fuel pickup from the stock tank to one of the auxiliaries and use large-diameter tube crossover and connection to the stock tank? Then there'd be no need for a pump. For diesels frothing could be a problem, of course, unless there's a really big connector pipe and/or big breathers. Filling my diesel Corolla at a car pump is a pain... but filling my diesel 88 Skyline with a truck pump was painless and oh-so-fast.
