I really don't want to modify my OE tank.  Also big pipe gravity feeding the aux tank would only work on a Syncro if you drilled a hole at the bottom of the tank and found a leak proof way of attaching a fitting - the fuel line are at the side of a Syncro tank..

It is critically important for me (and others) to be able to turn everything back to original if need be.
