When Consumer Reports reviewed the original VW Rabbit, they complained that it only had one turn signal indicator. That only means they were too stupid to remember which way they were going to turn.

Their oil test, AIR, involved a fleet of taxis, which although they put on many miles in a short time, don't experience many hot/cold cycles, hardly representative of typical use.

I use Shell Rotella T 5W-40 (CI-4/SH rated group III "synthetic") in all my cars, including the Vanagon. They recently came out with an improved version, called "T6".
