I think the shape of the inside of the stock bushing allows for grease to be retained inside. A delrin type sleeve replacement should work fine but might need more frequent lubrication. The plain sleeve replacement might last long enough for our purposes with just initial lubrication. Give it a try. A lip on one end and clamp on the other sounds easy enough.
