$30k is a bit steep maybe, and I had the same thought. But this syncro has a TDI conversion from a reputable shop ($20K right there), rebuilt transaxle with gear ratios more suited to the TDI, upgraded bumpers with offroad auxiliary lights.... all functional upgrades.

The $10k van was basically a stock Carat with a WBX and some fancy wheels and some interior bling.
