I have no experience with Tiico, but given the noise on the list in the last years wouldn't touch them (just my opinion). I have a Kennedy adapter plate in my 84 Westy and have been very pleased with it. YMMV :-)

hey Guys My understanding is that Tiico only had motor problems. Doesn't their adapter do exactly like the VW diesel stuff in that it lays the engine over so it clears the cover? I do know that they wouldn't sell just the adapter kits by themselves when they were in business. I use VW vannie diesel stuff when I did mine and used a jetta 1.8 L motor from a 91 jetta . I did find out that the first year vannie mounts have to be cut and moved to make work . I was told that 1983 vannie diesel motor mounts don't require any mods. I also used an exhust manifold from a 1990 audi 100 turbo which worked great. I did not change any of the wireing or control system so that is all 1985 vanagon stuff. I am very pleased with how it all works and runs later mark dearing
