That's the frustrating part; when it occurs I'm not in a position to deal with it (leaving for work or whatever) so I take another vehicle.  When I have the time and inclination to pursue the problem it chooses not to appear.

I think there may be two issues because there are two different symptoms; the first used to occur when I first got the van and has not recurred in the last year or so and the second has only begun recently.  1) Turn the key and NOTHING happens, the reason I bought the ignition switch part as advised by some listmembers, and 2) turn the key and it cranks normally but does not start and (very telling here) no fuel pump noise, indicating to me a problem with the fuel pump or the relay and I have those parts, too.  They may be related but they may not, and until I can get in there with a multimeter and some smarts I won't know what the heck is happening.

I'll figure it out.  I just need a couple of hours unclaimed by the bride or other obligations to spend chasing the gremlins down.   Stephen   --- On Mon, 1/18/10, Scott Daniel - Turbovans <scottdaniel@turbovans.com> wrote:

hi, re "most of the satisfaction of troubleshooting is finding out what the actual problem was instead of solving the problem by throwing parts at it."

I'll say ! have you been able to 'catch it' when it won't start, to find out what is missing ....like injector signal, ignition not working, low fuel pressure etc ?
