all '84 -'91 US market vanagons came from the factory with full plastic wheelcovers as standard, or the "carat" style alloys as an option on the '87 up vanagons

the only US market vans to be sold w/ chrome moon hubcaps were some base model passenger vans and '80-'83 vans and westys. i have a 85 nine passenger (oddball) non-GL base model vanagon that has a all vinyl interior and it came with chrome moon hubcaps originally.

the '88 westy in question above would have come originally with the factory disc style plastic wheelcovers.

i simply made the comment "i wasn't diggin those chrome moon style hubcaps" is because with that low of mileage, it would have accentuated the originality factor if it had the original wheelcovers on it. just my 2 cents :)
