I run Michelin Aguilles in size 205/65 R15 C. I think that size is 'nigh perfect.' I think the 205 / 70's would be 'too fat/big.' if there is some reason you really want a large tire, go with the 205 /70, but otherwise.... I've always like the proportions of that size tire, the 205/65 R 15. load and stiffness wise, the Agilles are way up there. The max load in lbs is plenty enough for a vanagon , I'm pretty sure. and they drive extra great ..........not for snow or ice, but dry and in the rain - excellent, Tracks unusually well, and has nice turn-in. Quite expensive though, and a little hard to find.
