An idea might be to indelibly and discreetly engrave your name or some
code into a visible (when on the vehicle) surface on various parts,
including headlight lenses. Thieves and buyers of stolen parts will be
unlikely to notice to care, but you might spot them some time on
someone else's van... and then you can gets its rego and run to the
cops.

Please note - During the past 17 years of operation, several gigabytes of Vanagon mail messages have been archived. Searching the entire collection will take up to five minutes to complete. Please be patient!
