Subject:      Picking up my 90 Carat

A while back I purchased a '90 Carat and I finally have time, and the space, to bring it home. I picked it up for $400. <http://www.kippert.com/vanagon/90carat/index.html>

It was not running when I looked it over and I didn't try starting it. The PO explained that the engine is bad because it would not idle after it warmed up and the oil pressure alarm would sound constantly. Because of this she went out and bought a '91 Carat. After that it sat at her house until, at the "insistence" of her neighbors, she decided to sell it. I don't know who diagnosed the bad engine, I get the feeling she did. I'm thinking maybe some bad sensors but who knows. So before selling it, she had someone pull the bumper and rear hatch off the '90 and install it on the '91.

Anyhow, to make a long story short, it's been setting at least 2 years. I'm wondering if I should try starting it as is or should I drain the tank and somehow flush the fuel lines before starting. Do injectors clog from lack of use?
