Most of the foreign car parts houses will get you a rebuilt by Maval, with a life-time warranty, for about $275-300.

Alldata specifies 2.0 hrs. not including setting toe. The MSRP for a new power steering rack is $669.25. I have seen used racks on the Samba and Ebay in the $75.00-$175.00 price range.
