Ok, to further the debate, somewhere I have a copy of the original window sticker from a 1978 Westfalia which showed the price at about $11,500.00. In 1978 I bought a new Chevy van for $6,026.00. $8,000.00 for a 79 sounds way too low. In 1985 I found a '78 Westy on a VW dealers lot with only 48K miles and it was in like new condition for $4,500.00-I'm still kicking myself for not buying it.
