The OE Vanagon Radio inside my bus was labeled Heidelberg, IIRC.


If that's the case for you, it should fit flush.  I've had two Sonys
in the radio hole that Crutchfield didn't want to sell me (longer than
stock) that fit with a little finagling.


Also, as has already been pointed out, the lead feeding power to the
radio is always hot, so you have to remember to shut it off when you
cut the ignition.
