There was a rather dramatic picture of (I think) a Vanagon in flames in Iraq on a show that just aired on Animal Planet about a woman who had been stung by one of the world's third most poisonous scorpions while she was there.

They did not go into whether a Vanagon was considered an improvised explosive device :).

The episode guide here http://animal.discovery.com/tv/im-alive/episode/suggests that it was the "battlegrounds" episode, but it didn't look the whole episode was online. If you get a chance to see it it's very near the end of the piece, which is very near the end of the episode.
