Brian, Rather than pmail I'm obviously posting to the vanagon list as well so it goes into the archives for future use if needed. I got the stainless header, J and muffler when my conversion was done in Oct. '07. The header "folded" (had 6 holes or cracks in it) at about 14-16 months. SC had already started producing a better model where they ordered 100 at a time, according to Mao at SC. This one has proven to be much more robust and better quality, noticeable even by thumping the pipes. The old header sounded tinny by comparison but this new one isn't a year old yet so time will tell. I don't do any maintenance on the muffler so it has "bronzed" like SS does when heated but it's showing no other wear or weakness so my vote is that it's a good system, good investment.
