Particularly in snow country the bare aluminum will corrode real bad. The factory actually used a wax like coating on the engine and transmission to slow this down. I have actually seen trannies with holes in the top of the case from corrosion. My own red van a few years ago had so much corrosion on a head not only did the gasket fall out one of the exhaust stud area actually crumbled. Eastwood "Alumibalst" will make the heads and case look real nice (not too shiny).

When I went to get my engine in Boston last week Gary told me that since he bead blasted the heads that I should paint them. What would happen if I don't? Do they get real discolored? What kind of paint should I use and what's a good color?

Thanks, Bryan
