Customer service? No. I went to Wally World today to buy some fish for my aquarium - grandson likes fish - and I had to search through three departments before I found someone willing to put 4 fish in a plastic bag. Then I had to show him what to write on the bag label.....

An understanding of human nature? Definitely a yes. They know that the check they put in the mail would be returned many times over in sales because "the story would get out". It just got out again today on this forum, 29 years later!

Wally World is strictly commodity shopping. And things like a battery & oil are commodity items. Expect anything more from them and you will be disappointed.

It appears they have a successful customer service model, eh?

Many years ago---in fact it was in 1981 that I moved from Louisiana to Durango, Colorado and had a Wal Mart battery fail under warranty. I called Wal-Mart in Bentonville, Arkansas and asked them what to do since at that time there were no Wal-Marts located anywhere near me (hard to believe but that was way back in time and almost 30 years ago). To my delight and surprise they said "we will send you a check for the battery and just purchase a replacement battery from a local auto parts place." Wow--they gave me money based upon my telling them I had a bad battery with no confirmation from a Wal-Mart store. I really appreciated their willingness to stand by their products and when I moved back to an area with Wal-Marts I have been a great customer of theirs with no bad experiences.
