A link that summarizes past deals and discussions about this "vendor":

http://gnarlodious.com/Vanagon/WARNING_-_Z&S_Imports He is referred to elsewhere on internet searches as a "serial entrepreneur". Perhaps buyer beware is a safe summary? Anyone remember Gnarly?

Yes, it is true that we have been trying to sell off everything for a few years now, it has taken longer than expected due to various unexpected delays such as sheer high volume of inventory wich at that time included 200+ vehicles in stock, as well as 8,000 sq. ft of parts, which made it difficult for many prospective buyers to come up with the necessary funds, not to mention various personal set-backs such as an extremely messy divorce, having to take care of an ailing, elderly mother, putting two kids thru college, and having to deal with terminal heart disease, all this while trying to juggle running a business with my professional medical occupation.

Yes, all this would appear pretty comical to somebody on the outside looking in, so it would be extremely easy for all the esteemed VW specialists on this forum and others like it to pass judgements on others wthout bothering to personally verify any of the details or facts. So, yes, it indeed is beginning to look like the so-called furniture store which is perpetually holding a "going out of business" sale. Nothing could be further from the truth. We have been selling off stuff, it has just taken much longer than we expected, but now it looks like we have reached the last few remnants of our original inventory, and we are just trying to liquidate that too.

During these past few years my family and I have had to deal with all kinds of degradation, disrespect, humiliation and name-calling at the hands of my peers in the VW world. Even my minor children at that time were not spared being abused by all these paragons of family virtue, when all they were trying to do was to take a stand against their father being persecuted en masse by individuals, many of whom had never met him to begin with, and did not even know him personally. Some have even taken it upon themselves to dishonor my professional medical credentials. Shame on you, I say! How would any of you like it if I stooped down to join your ranks and disrepect you or your families? I bet the shoe wouldn't fit on the other foot, now would it? This is in stark contrast to the many satisfied customers who gave me the honor of their continued patronage over all these very same years, and still continue to do so. To them I say, it has certainly been an honor and a privilege to serve you.

Believe me, we actually have a life beyond this business of Volkswagens. The fact of the matter is, contrary to popular belief, NONE of us are going to be taking these damn VWs to the grave with us. That thinking belongs in a very materialistic world. We are trying hard to get rid of the last remnants of stock so that we can leave and I can spend the remainder of whatever little life I have left with my mother, who is very old, ill and dying just like me. So it is kind of a race between myself and her, to see who dies first.

To that end, we have energetically advertised our left-over stock all over the NET, including EBay, for a fraction of what it is really worth, again, to the seeming amusement of many who spare no effort to again disrespect and revile our efforts to do so. Hopefully somebody will find it interesting enough to step up and get everything so that we can indeed leave this wonderful community for good. I have no doubt that this will be a cause for frenzied rejoicing among the few ill-wishers I have.

Regardless of the outcome, we are leaving in the 3rd week of February 2010. Our warehouse and yard will stay locked up after that until it gets sold, at which point I will fly back here temporarily to conclude the sale. So, if there are any among you who may still be interested in getting all or part of our remaining inventory, feel free to contact me so we can see about making it happen before we leave.

Ordinarily I would love to say that it has been great knowing all of you, and while that sentiment would certainly hold true for a lot of great folks I have had the sincere pleasure of knowing, the sad fact remains that to the other minority I say, have a good life!

Good bye, and thank you for taking the time to read this.

Sincerely,

Vic Ahmed, MD
