Really, Miguel!?! I had a friend who did that in 'the old days', so I tried it then too. Nope, no comparison, not even close. RainX rules. The only downside I have ever seen is the tendency to accumulate annoying rubber wiper marks at the end of the wiper sweep.

Re: the removal question previously: if it really is in fact silicone-based, then use professional wax and grease remover. This product is used to prep vehicles in body shops, clears all waxes, silicone, road tar, etc.
