I would encourage you to try to get by with a much smaller inverter. Or avoid the inverter altogether. I carry a little Radio Shack inverter in the glove box, but I never use it.

Those can all be powered by 12VDC.

I suggest a generator for those. I prefer not to complicate my Vanagon by asking it to power such devices.

I have the GoWesty aux battery kit installed. When the ignition is off, the monitor light on the stove shows the condition of the aux battery.
