Hi Dave,

Some times you just get a good deal. I had my 1973 westfakia sprayed for $300 at Maaco 9 years ago and it looked great when it came back and the finish lasted a good 7 years before the rust monster recurred. We took a friend's bus to the same place last year and the price was $550.

It did help that I did my own prepwork, and I was the one who put the windows back in and the handles back on. I plan to do something similar for my Vanagon come springtime.

It's probably a situation like back when Benny used to do Vanagon work for $35/hr. Cheap doesn't always mean sub-par.

Happy Trails,

He got $900 for seven days work, and of course, he had to buy materials, pay for his shop and equipment .............. . How does he make a living? If he is actually pocketing $500 above shop costs (such as insurance, rent, equipment) and materials, and takes no days off the entire year, with work continuous, he is making $25K per annum. That won't support most folks these days. > > David Mc > > ---- JordanVw@AOL.COM wrote: >> In a message dated 1/31/2010 9:23:05 P.M.
