The ABA cam is already optimized for lower end power.  Even the cams from the 1.8L arn't as nice as the ABA for the low end.  No idea what the RemTec motor is setup for. 

You have 122 ft.lbs of toque which really isn't much to write home about compared to the wbx 117 - only way to get much more torque is getting a turbo engine, a little more torque would come from chip tuning.
