So I think maybe this is what happened: I think the original coil died (the reading on the primary was about three times spec), and that in cranking it after hooking everything back up, I flooded it, as Mark suggested. I don't even think I cranked it more than 30-45 seconds total over the course of several minutes, but maybe that was enough. I exchanged the coils, and it didn't fire, so I came in here and posted, and then went to do some other stuff. I came back, printed out David's replay, found my digifant manual that I had printed out some time ago and forgotten about, and went out to test stuff. I had voltage at the coil with the key on, so I pulled a plug wire again, grounded it and had my wife turn the key. Much to my surprise, it fired off on three cylinders, and me with the fourth plug wire in my hand. Maybe it's just trying to show me who's boss. Sometimes it feels that way.

Anyhow, all's well that ends well I reckon. Thanks for the replies and suggestions.

Cya, Robert
