I checked out ev_update@yahoogroups.com when thinking about a vehicle that was more "wife" friendly, but seems that there are alot of problems with the trannys on these vehicles. The fridges are also complained alot about. Ground clearance is neglible. I wave at alot of EV owners and only get a 40% return :-(. GoWesty had a review of vanagons vs. EV and syas soemthing like: EV beats vanagon in 16 out of 20(don't guote me) categories for campers, but says there are a couple of gotta haves in the Vanagon that the EV doesn't have. Such as: Ground clearnace, uniqeness, and customer loyalty. I'm with you on some stuff such as quiteness on the road, but the rest I am happy with in my Vanagon. BTW-Turning radius on a Vanagon beats EV hands down. Michael in San Antonio 91GL AT 'Gringo' 73 Beetle
