ok, heres the deal.  i have a parcel tray from a  transporter/kombi/base
model vanagon.   this was used INSTEAD of the  glove box on some base
model/euro models..    now, not many  people want to lose their lockable glovebox in
favor of one of these things  (even thought they are rare) but i really
wanted to use it on my van  so this is what i did...    i modified one of these
to fit  the DRIVERS side...under the dash of my own '84 vanagon..    it
actually turned out really well and it looks factory.   it is very  handy for
holding junk that overflows from the drivers door map  pocket..
if you have minimal dremel skills you can handle it.

the parcel tray is brown..  and it only fits '80-'85  vans..    '86 up the
fuse box changed and it wont work.

this one is not yet modified.   id like $45 for it

of course if you want to get rid of your glovebox, it will fit ALL '80-'91
vanagons in place of the passengers side glovebox.
 if you want to make it black, a simple coat of krylon fusion brand  satin
finish will make it black..
