Hi, my 25 cents worth - I always thought 'gerryvanagon' was about vanagons excusively, and I beleive it is.

Wetwesties - Eurovans show up there a little, and air-cooled Buses, since that is about people and the VW vans that camp, whether Old Bus, Vanagon, or Eurovan.

there is a yahoo group for 93 Eurovans. get on that one.

the 'other reason' is ....... the common early 93 and five cylinders Eurovans 'are weird.' I'm slowly learning my way around one I bought dead for next to nothing. They are not easy to work on, not all commpared to a Vanagon anyway. They are not reliable particularily. I know of two cases of $ 15,000 being spent in repairs on early Eurovan within about only two years, and then they gave up on them. That's why you find early vanagons around for almost nothing. Especially auto trans ones, which I belive most are. I believe those are not such great transmissions, and very costly to replace.

I belive the later VR6 Eurvoans are much better. They are also more like a modern car, pretty complex and high tech. Bottom line though, early Eurovans are kinda 'nightmare' vehciles. Just the other day a guy wrote 'I rue the day I first laid eyes on that red Eurovan.'

Btw.......anybody got a good used ECU for a 93 Eurovan ? I need one. thanks, Scott www.turbovans.com

I do believe that this is to be a Vanagon AND EuroVan e-community. No?

So

why are there no EuroVan posts like: What tires? My fridge wont work? New oversize brakes? Headlight replacement? NLA parts? Engine conversions? Tranny rebuilds? 1001 Upgrades? Rusted head-bolts?? EuroVan Rescue-Squad?? Rust?

This is a serious question. Is it just that EuroVans are newer or are EuroVans so much more trouble free? Is there another exclusively EuroVan list/site some place Malcolm
