The problem as i see it, is that the rubber escutcheon does nothing to support the door handle where it goes through the outer doorskin. In essence the handle is cantilevered from the inner latch lock mechanism, admittedly not a long cantilever. If the screw on the inside of door is not tight (and it should have some locktite on the threads) then the handle feels loose, the lack of previously mentioned support is really noticeable.
god almighty, what a load of wordy drivel just to say that I think the lack of outboard support on the door handle is a weakness in the design. I need more coffee.
