I bent mine with no problems.  IIRC, I just put them in a vice (after
separating the plastic cover, obviously).  I did two bends on each handle so
that the knob would still be perpendicular to the plane of the door.  I only
bent about 10 degrees.  Matter of fact, the knobs broke off of both handles
recently, and I'm gonna have to fashion some new ones.  I'll let you know
how it goes.

|type of zinc alloy that you can bend somewhat -- they're
|not.  They're made of the kind of zinc alloy that looks you straight
|in the eye and then snaps in half.    I needed the bend to clear a
|speaker, so I backed it up with a bent piece of 1/2 x 1/8 HRS with a
|.040 rabbet milled into it so the screws wouldn't have to do all the
|locating work.  Hey, I wanted to use the new (Taig) mill anyway... :)
