Everyone (such as myself) who plays golf have a love/hate relationship with the game. Some may pretend otherwise, but... :-D And I also 'understand' sailing. We have a 30' Catalina that we keep in San Diego. It's our WaterWesty and it shares similar functions. We can live in it, meander about in it, and naturally, pour money into it. But sailing, for us, isn't about going *somewhere*, it's just enjoying the peace and solitude and the beauty of the ocean. And it's a peaceful condo for winter/summer getaways. We sailed some on the lakes around the Phoenix AZ area in years past, and man if you want fickle winds, try our canyon lakes - they're truly crazy. Not to mention that deck hardware gets a tad toasty in 114° sunshine! Keith Hughes '86 Westy Tiico (Marvin) |
