Well, as Patty says, and has stated here on the list aquite a while ago: It's all about indoctrination - instruct your wife/husband/SO in the ways of your interest and allow them to be a part of it and there is no need for 150% gifts :)

It worked for us. I had a Vanagon when we got together - I have since had 2 others and working on another. I've included her in everything (that she wants to be included in) and it isn't much of an issue - we love camping togehter and taking the bus on long rides.

A little while ago I said to her, "You know life without a Vanagon is prertty much out of the question at this point?" - She just smiled and said "Yes, I know".

It's worked so well that she now owns a '78 Bus.

-- Thanks,
