I've never seen a fold up side step but I know for sure that Bus Boys has a
side step for the Vanagon. I'm sure other vendors do as well.

The owner was kind enough to donate one of the side steps to the Buses by
the Beach Benefit Raffle/Auction last year. It was a nice donation and I
know the person who won it was very pleased with it.
