I will say, having all my music readily accessible and well organized in one convenient place is what sold me on MP3 systems years ago. I went through several incarnations and was most anti-ipod for some time..... finally i gave in. It really is well built. I did finally manage to destroy mine (well it's fixable, but i'm going to just replace it) by letting it fall into a sink full of gasoline on a sailboat where it remained for several hours.

I would not consider going on a road trip without an ipod. I'll be getting a new one for this summers east coast adventures.
