I ask because I know Benny Boy recently purchased a sailboat (but hasn't
chimed in) and I know at least one member on our list lives on a sailboat
and used the vanagon as his car. I will be doing similar thing this summer,
(living aboard a brand new sailboat and when in port using my vanagon) and
was curious as to who else sails. Actually, I can think of several names on
this list off the top of my head that haven't chimed in, so this thread may
continue for a while.
I am most grateful for the fact that last year, while applying for summer
jobs, I realized the skill set I had. After 21 years of life and 21 years of
sailing (actually slightly more) I decided to apply myself towards sailing
based jobs, and I can say honestly that I can't think of a better way to go
through college, spending the summers at least! Not only that, but my
family's 26ft Chrysler sailboat now under my control is a mere 15minutes
from my university, and as such it makes a wonderful break from classes and
a series of new opportunities to friends. I feel what i've learned regarding
vanagons and the mechanics of such have been directly influenced by my
knowledge of sailboats and have provided me with great opportunities, so
once again, I thank you the members of the list for you wonderful guidance
over the years.
May the Four Winds blow you safely home.
