I forgot about those Porsche Alloy Nuts.
I have used those on the rear of a 2WD vanagon.
they are so light in your hand, they feel like they would float in water.
They're 'cap nuts' - the look great on an alloy wheel.
And they seem strong enough for the job.

. ....that's funny, most stock Porsche 911's have steel studs with aluminum
alloy lugnuts!

Yes I know the shape is different, the "profile?"...And that may be what
Scott is mainly referring to..
But there are actual quite a few wheel nuts and bolts that are made
from
alloy. These aren't acceptable, safety-wise, on racetracks (by the rules)
or
(in my opinion) for street use in the real world. Too easy to damage and
simply not as strong or as durable as steel..
I get the point...make certain the shape of the wheel fasteners match
the
holes in the wheels properly. But using an alloy nut on a steel wheel
stud
is risky, too.
