Dave, I've often heard the "women are better drivers" remark, especially when I was a young man trying to buy affordable insurance. What I would question is the methodology used in arriving at that conclusion. Did the writers of the study just review insurance data and decide that because men had more tickets and accidents than women, that women were better drivers, or did they actually review data broken down by miles driven?

As we can see just from the list members, most of us have wives who are licensed drivers, but the men seem to do the lion's share of the driving. Equal number of drivers in the van, but one, because he is behind the wheel more often, is statistically more likely to be involved in an accident or get a ticket. Personally, and I know I'm too small a sample, I've had some tickets, never caused an accident. I have been hit four times. Twice by men, twice by women.

It doesn't neccessarily mean that women aren't better drivers, I am just curious how they arrived at their conclusion. As you would say, hmmm.... Don
