Usually there is a white paper sticker under the dash on the drivers side of the van...kind of near the fusebox. It contains paint code and M code information.

Some vans had the sticker under the rear foamy as well, but usually it is long gone by now.

you can also check the list below and try and determine which color it is by process of elimination...

since you describe it as chocolate it is most likely Assuan Brown (LH8B) since only 4 colors were available for Westy's in 1980. (assuming car is US model and original paint still)
