Absolutely Pete,

Daryl has always been exceptionally generous with sharing his valuable time
and transaxle knowledge with the Vanagon/Westfalia/Syncro communities.  Not
just here but also on the many other various Vanagon forums.

From my personal experience, Daryl definitely gives away far more than he
takes in this world.  If you've never had the pleasure of visiting his shop,
I can tell you that his phone rings constantly with folks in tranny trouble
asking for free advice or his opinion on a problem.  Being cooped up and
isolated in a hospital room will probably be as difficult for Daryl as
anything his illness or his doctors can throw at him.

Sometimes the best medicine is confirmation that your friends are thinking
of you and are truly available to help lift your spirits when the
opportunity arises.

Since he's not going to be on-line for a while; perhaps a simple and old
fashioned "get well" card sent by US Mail would be in order.
