you can sort of prime the oil pump on a waterboxer.

In any case where there is a desire for a primed oil system on a waterboxer engine ...... Fill the oil filter carefully, with good clean oil. I say carefully, because pouring oil into the center hole of the oil filter is adding to the bearing,side, and non-filtered side, of the paper element in the OF.

While the OF is off, you can also pump oil with an oil can into the gears of the oil pump through where the OF came off, or I think you can anyway.

is the 'new' oil pump identical in every dimension to the one that came off ?
