Nerd out! I used Google Forms to create a data entry page for any Vanagon work performed by myself or another. It lets me enter data, mileage, notes of things noticed in the course of maintenance, costs, etc. This all gets dumped into a super-sortable Google Spreadsheet. When I sold my last VW I just transferred ownership of the online spreadsheet directly to the new owner. He probably isn't as into the tech as I am.

I also keep a log book in the car for backup / quick reference / blank paper / doodling / origami.
