fwiw, I just looked at some heater hose connections for Jeff today - specifically the T's for the rear heater. Yes, it's 5/8ths going to the T, and leaving the T going forward.

but, coming off the T going to the rear heater ... it's slightly less than 1/2 inch ID ...like 12mm.

and...of course......thank you VW for making hoses differenst sizes on each end ... where it gets to the rear heater core - it is 5/8 there again. I suspect they wanted a restrictor affect slightly for the rear heater, so the rear one wouldn't take too much flow away from the front heater core. Scott www.turbovans.com
