My belief is that the automatic transmission market was responsible for only a very small percentage of their overall sales. This was clear when they were for sale, as the automatic kits had additional costs due to parts that had to be made automatic specific in much smaller batches. As such, I think based entirely upon their growing business with the manual 2wd and syncro crowd and small percentage in the Automatic crowd, of which they've had issues with, It seems like a reasonable action. I imagine the automatic transmission kits might come back into existence at some point, but it sure is a bummer if you just purchased an engine. Luckily, the resale value on said engine should be pretty good.
