Central Standard Time (Me, LISTSERV@GERRY.VANAGON.COM writes: Well, what you say may be true but the stainless used on the exhaust parts I sell, #409 and #304, made by LEV-FAB will certainly have surface rusting that can always be cleaned off with phosphoric acid if you wish but it does not ever degrade the metal to the point it needs to be replaced. The entire stainless steel system on my '87 Westy with 600,000 km on the clock has been there now for 10 years. No parts rusted through so far !
>>>>>>"And with stainless, You dont need to think about this issue ever again." Be careful with that one ... stainless rusts, just not as fast. Ask me how I know. ;-) I like it. It's more durable by a long shot than mild steel, even aluminized (which is great stuff).<<<<<<<
