Thanks for the welcome!  The first thing I saw today was the post on your
blog.  Not what I wanted to see as far as the real world is concerned.

Hang in there.  You are in good condition due to your active lifestyle, and
I know you will get some great pleasure and satisfaction from working with
your son on the business.   We all want you to pass the torch, but not for a
long time!

Hello to the old timers (like me) and to those who have joined since I left
the list!



After selling my '84 Westy back in 2005 and purchasing a '97 EVC that I sold
last year, I'm thinking about purchasing a late model Vanagon Westy.  The
'84 was a poor driver (not to mention three engine replacements), and the
EVC was a poor camper compared to the Westy, and a money pit to boot.



I checked the "articles" section of Vanagon.com and found that Jim Davis'
Model Year Summaries are "not available:"

Maybe someone can fix this.  The main reasons I sold the '84 were it had no
power steering along small brakes and tires.  I would only consider an '86
or newer into which I would put a Subaru engine.  I'll never put up with a
waterboxer again!



It would be helpful if I could find out what features were added as the
Vanagon Westy went through its lifecycle.
