Anne and I camped there last weekend in our Zetec Syncro Camper on a shakedown trip. 22 mpg over 500 miles, more winding mountain roads than freeway. The flowers were beginning to show for sure. There are some formal pay camping spots but they were pretty full of large rigs and camping off on your own is permitted for the most part so that is what we did. I will pmail you directions to "our spot" if you like.
